Balance

The spiritual journey often feels like you're meant to be a lone mystic hermit, meditating cross-legged in a hidden cave. Yet, the more we meditate and go inward, the more we feel the urge to chat with someone about it over coffee. Conversely, after being with others for an extended time, we all reach a point where we want to be left alone. The contrast can be startling and disturbing.

The truth about the spiritual journey is that it is one of balance—the balance between the inner process and outer expression, the balance between aloneness and communal engagement, the balance between silence and engaging brainstorming, the balance between our soul and our ego.

Do you have that balance? Or where do you feel out of balance? Seeking balance helps guide our journey.
